Review:

The Official Underground 2012 Doomsday Survival Handbook is a very funny little book in the vein of Max Brook’s Zombie Survival guide. There are some creative examples of how to get by in a variety of realistic and way out there situations, from a volcano eruption to a full scale alien invasion.

Scattered throughout the book are some humourous cartoon pictures to graphically display the impending doom. The book also starts off with some actual historical event and puts an apocalyptic spin on the real event to create a historical theme to the disasters. I particularly enjoyed the “Chicken of Doom” pages and the picture of the Grim Reaper Chicken.

My only gripe with this book is the numerous plays on Christian religion. There were quite a few sections out of the Bible that were twisted to create a satirical event.
