Review:

I just love these North Light products, especially these DVD’s that step you through the process of painting from the initial sketch to the finished product.

You'll paint two flowers using unique approaches—mixing colour directly on the surface to paint a magnolia, and glazing colour to paint an iris—to create fabulous darks, luscious colour and wonderful contrasts.

It was amazing to see Joyce start the painting with the darkest colours, then work back to the lightest washes. I was always taught to start from lightest to darkest, but Joyce’s technique worked a treat. The amazing mixes of colours that she created were just stunning. It was also interesting to see the interpretation of the reference photo compared to the finished painting.

Can’t wait to pick up the next DVD Joyce produces on watercolour.
