Review

If you like the Daniel X YA series then you will love this new Manga series based on James Patterson’s best selling series. The storyline if pretty much the same as the YA novel, and while the characters may look a bit different to how I pictured them; the Manga version of Daniel X was great.

This edition of Daniel X is the first in a new series of graphically adapted stories by Patterson, and the beginning of another medium that will see the author reach even more markets. Artist, SeungHui Kye does a fantastic job at putting the graphics to Patterson’s words in this book.

There is definitely something about Mange that changes the way a story is portrayed; it seems to add a very distinct feel to the story regardless of the original format. I personally love the Japanese form of graphic novels and found its application to a James Patterson novel to be a good fit, especially as Daniel X is a sci-fi themed story.

If you haven’t heard about Daniel X before then here’s a quick outline. Daniel X is the last remaining Alien Hunter from Earth after his parents are murdered by an intergalactic criminal. This isn’t as hard as it sounds as Daniel has the ability to create anything that he can imagine, (how many of us would like to have this power).

This is a great start for a new graphic novel series and I look forward to seeing the next ones.
