Description:

Real-life paranormal activity in Australian homes. A captivating exploration of haunted houses. A book to read with ALL the lights on!

WHERE SPIRITS DWELL unearths the creaking, spine-chilling moments when ghosts appear in suburbia.

Alongside infamous Australian haunted homes, like Junee s Monte Cristo Homestead and Annandale s haunted Abbey, WHERE SPIRITS DWELL also takes readers inside other haunted dwellings including schools, pubs and even shopping centers.

As she did in her bestselling book SPIRIT SISTERS, described as 'addictive reading' by the Daily Telegraph and 'fascinating and thought-provoking' by the Sun Herald, Karina Machado spins a such web of wonder that often the interviewees lives prove just as fascinating as the spooky experiences they're sharing with her.

Along with these real-life experiences, Machado also investigates the haunted house in history, literature and popular culture in this creepy, intriguing book.

She began her career in journalism as editorial assistant at TIME magazine in 1994, and is now a senior editor at WHO magazine, where she's for ever pitching spooky stories. She's also obsessed with the Tudors of England, and has been known to dress up as Anne Boleyn, whose ghost she's sadly never seen.

Review:

Where Spirits Dwell by Karina Machado is a real-life book recounting the true events of paranormal events in various Aussie homes. I am a big fan of the Ghost Hunter series, so this book was on my radar as soon as I heard about it. I loved the spooky tales of haunting in both residential homes and public places, such as schools and shopping centres.

At only 304 pages long, it didn’t take very long at all to rip through the pages, leaving me wanting to read more about each account.

Machado also researched other historical haunting in both fiction and true-life stories to enrich the details and flesh out the ghostly accounts of the stories she was told.

If you like the paranormal, then you will be enthralled with this book.
