Review:

Hit List is the 20th book in the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series of novels by Laurell K Hamilton, which is quite an achievement for any series. Having the popularity to get this many books in the one series published has to be commended.

Hit List brings a confident Anita back to her faithful readers who rolled along with her emotional self- discovery and her seemingly endless sexual hang-ups.

In the previous novels we saw various characters develop as if she was a real human being working through major emotional issues and questioning her own morality. Many people have complained she and her paramours are too whiny, too demanding, too… much and I have always held onto the belief that Laurell K. Hamilton was leading us up to something and I believe that we are seeing the fruits of that labor in “Hit List.”

“Hit List” gives us a confident Anita, finally being secure in her sexual life and her professional life. Edward is back also and it’s a fully fleshed out story line not just Edward thrown in to the story to sell to his fans, we see via “Hit List” how Edward has changed, if only a little, over the years since he was first introduced.

This is a great book and will be popular with fans of Anita Blake.
