Review:

Embrace by Jessica Shrivington is the first book in The Violet Eden Chapter series, which is already up to the third book since Embrace was released in October last year. Embrace pulls the reader into the world of the main character Violet from the get go by introducing a detailed web of folklore and mythology. The creation of this atmosphere sets the scene for an enticing series.

Violet faces tough decisions when her world is turned upside down when she realises her long time crush has really been keeping a huge secret from her for the past 2years. She has to face a choice about her destiny but also deal with the issues from her past that haunt her and her deep desires to 'control' her future.

When it seems there is no one she can trust, in walks Phoenix, a fallen angel and opens Violets eyes to the real world of exiles which are both light and dark. This is the start of the series and a great beginning promising heaps to follow.
